Meet Ray

For over 56 years, Ray Ellis has enriched Savannah through his passion for music and the arts. Ray has served as the Minister of Music at Asbury Memorial Church since 2000. His dedication to caregiving extends to his work with Coastal Care Partners, where he has been providing compassionate care since 2021.

With a career spanning over 30 years as a Choral, Drama, and Piano teacher, Ray has inspired countless young people and adults through the art of singing. He is a true servant leader, sharing his passion and expertise through his decade-long tenure as the District One Choral Chairperson for the Georgia Music Education. Ray holds a BA in Music Education from Armstrong University

His love for community theater has seen him actively participating in Savannah’s vibrant theater scene for over 40 years.

Ray firmly believes that the arts are essential to creating well-rounded individuals, and regularly told his students that “Singing is the only thing you can do till your dying day.” His dedication to music and the arts continues to inspire and shape the lives of those around him.
